APRICOT BARS 
2/3 c. dried apricots
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Rinse fruit, cover with water, boil for 10 minutes. Drain, cool and chop. Mix butter, sugar and 1 cup flour until crumbly. Pack in 8"x8" pan. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Sift 1/3 cup flour, baking powder and salt. Beat eggs and gradually add brown sugar. Mix in flour mixture. Then vanilla, nuts and apricots. Spread over layer and bake 30 to 45 minutes until done. Cool in pan. Cut in 32 bars. Dust with powdered sugar.
