POTECA (PO-TEET-ZA) 
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. soft shortening or bread
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
3 3/4 c. flour

Scald milk and let it cool. Add water, sugar, salt, shortening and egg. Mix together and beat in yeast and flour. Knead; let rise. Punch down and let rise again. Prepare filling.

WALNUT FILLING:

1/4 c. soft butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. ground walnuts
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. lemon extract

Mix butter, brown sugar and egg; stir in other ingredients. Roll out dough paper thin in a large rectangle. Spread filling on top. Roll up like jelly roll and seal. On a greased baking sheet, starting from center of pan, form a snail shape with the roll of dough. Tuck end under. Cover with cloth and let rise in warm place. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees. While warm, brush top with butter. Delicious holiday treat.
