SWEET POTATO AND APPLE CASSEROLE 
2 cans (18 oz.) sweet potatoes
1 can (1 lb.) slices apples
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 c. butter, melted
2 tsp. lemon juice

Slice potatoes 3/4 inch thick. In a 1 1/2-quart casserole, alternate layers of potatoes and apples. Sprinkle each layer with part of the sugar, allspice, butter and lemon juice as you go along. Bake in hot oven 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Serves 8.
