CHERRY SQUARES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs, beaten
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 can of 1 lb. 5 oz. cherry pie filling

In large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and flour. Mix in extracts and blend well. Spread batter into greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan. Cut surface of batter to make 28 squares.

Spoon pie filling in center of each square. During baking, batter puffs up around pie filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Cut into squares. Sprinkle top with confectioners' sugar. Cool and remove from pan.
