BANANA ORANGE SOFTIES 
1 2/3 c. mashed ripe bananas
3/4 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. orange juice
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. grated orange peel
2 c. Quaker Oats
2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt, optional
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine bananas, butter and orange juice. Blend in eggs, vanilla, and orange peel. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg. Add to blended mixture. Add oats and raisins. Mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Cool; remove from cookie sheet. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.
