PEANUT BUTTER ROUND - UPS 
1 c. shortening, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. peanut butter
2 c. all-purpose flour (sifted)
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. oatmeal (quick or old fashioned)

Beat shortening and sugar together until creamy. Add eggs and beat well. Blend in peanut butter. Sift together flour, soda and soda; add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats.

Roll dough into 1 inch balls; place on ungreased cookie sheets. With a fork dipped into flour, press each cookie to make a criss-cross. Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees approximately 12 minutes. Makes 6 dozen.
