CRUMB CAKE 
Cake:

1/4 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Crumbs:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. melted butter

Cake: Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix in milk. Add baking powder and salt mixed with flour. Put in greased and floured 8-inch pans or a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Crumbs; Mix flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add vanilla. Mix in melted butter and form crumbs on top of batter in pans.

Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

Hint: Do not roll crumbs with fingers too long when forming or they will become tough.
