RUMBLE THUMBS 
2 lbs. boiling potatoes
3/4 c. milk
1/2 stick butter
4 c. shredded cabbage
1/3 c. minced onion
3/4 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese

Boil potatoes 20 minutes; drain and mash. Heat milk and add 2 tablespoons butter. Blanch cabbage 5 minutes. Saute onion in remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Mix potatoes, milk, cabbage, and onions. Place in buttered baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Place under broiler 8 inches from heat. Broil for 4 minutes.
