FRESH PEAR CAKE 
4 c. fresh pears, ground
2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
2 well beaten eggs

Pare and core pears; grind. Mix with sugar and nuts; let stand for 1 hour. Stir often as mixture makes its own juice. Add dry ingredients to pears. Add oil and vanilla and eggs. Do not use beater; stir by hand. Pour into well greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.
