GRANDPA'S COUNTRY VANILLA ICE
CREAM
 
4 eggs
2 1/4 c. sugar
6 c. heavy cream
4 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Add sugar gradually to beaten eggs. Continue to beat until mixture is thick, stiff like. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Electric ice cream maker: Pour into can and freeze as directed. Pack 2 inches of crushed ice in bottom of bucket. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons salt on ice. Continue this ice and salt layer until bucket is full. While freezing ice will melt so continue keeping bucket full of ice at the top level. Churn ice cream 20-30 minutes. Test. Taste and put in plastic containers in freezer.
