VANILLA SAUCE 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. corn starch
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Sift together sugar, corn starch and salt. Add gradually stirring constantly 2 cups boiling water. Continue to stir, bring to boiling point and simmer 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and blend in 1/4 cup butter. Blend in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Makes about 2 cups.
