BAKED FRENCH TOAST | |
1 loaf French bread 8 eggs 3 c. milk 1/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. vanilla 3 apples, peeled, cored and sliced 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. butter Spray 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray. Slice bread in 1 1/2-inch slices. Place bread tightly in one layer in pan. Combine eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla. Pour half of liquid over bread. Cover bread with apple slices. Pour remaining egg mixture over apples. Sprinkle cinnamon over this. Dot with butter. Bake at 400°F for 35 minutes. Cool 5 to 10 minutes. Serve with syrup (if desired). |
