MACARONI AND CHEESE WITH FISH
STICKS
 
1 to 1 1/2 c. elbow macaroni
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 3/4 c. milk
8 oz. process sharp American cheese, cut 1/2" cubes
1 (8 oz) pkg. frozen fish sticks

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cook macaroni as directed, drain. Cook and stir butter, onion, and pepper in 1 1/2 quart saucepan over medium heat until onion is tender. Stir in flour. Cook stirring continuously, until bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat until boiling, stir in cheese, until melted. Put macaroni in ungreased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Stir in cheese mixture. Put frozen fish sticks on macaroni. Bake uncovered 30 minutes.
