MINT PATTIES 
1/3 c. butter
1/3 c. white Karo syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
5 drops peppermint oil
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips
1/2 block wax

Mix all ingredients (except chocolate and wax) and roll between waxed paper. Cut the size you want and freeze 20 minutes. Melt the wax and chocolate chips in double boiler, dip the candy, and place back on waxed paper. (Peppermint flavoring can be substituted for peppermint oil.)
