DELAWARE RAISIN CAKE 
1 (16 oz.) box raisins
2 c. cold water
1 1/2 c. peeled, chopped apples
1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking soda, dissolved in a little water
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 c. cold water
4 c. all-purpose flour

Boil raisins, 2 cups water and apples for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool. Add butter, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and 1 cup water. Blend thoroughly then add flour and blend again. Bake at 325 degrees in greased and floured tube pan (or Bundt pan) for 1 hour. Yields 20 servings.
