FROSTY FRUIT BARS 
1/2 c. shortening (part butter)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. grated orange rind
1/4 c. pineapple or orange juice
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins
1 c. mixed, candied fruit
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix together shortening, butter, sugar, egg and orange rind. Stir in pineapple or orange juice. Sift together and stir in flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Press into a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 400 degrees. While still warm, spread with glaze, 1 cup powdered sugar and milk to thin. Cool and cut into desired lengths.
