COCONUT MACADAMIA BARS 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flaked coconut
1 (3 1/2 oz.) jar macadamia nuts

If using self-rising flour, omit baking soda.

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix butter, sugars and egg. Stir in flour and baking soda (dough will be stiff). Stir in nuts and coconut. Press dough in ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
