CHINESE CHILI 
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. onions, chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. rice, not minute
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1 (10 1/2 oz.) condensed tomato sauce
1 c. water
1 #303 can red kidney beans

Melt shortening in a large skillet (iron is best). Add onions, garlic powder, ground beef and rice; brown slightly. Add chili powder, salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, tomato sauce, water and red kidney beans. Stir until ingredients are blended on high flame until mixture steams, switch to low heat; simmer (covered) for 20 minutes. A very delicious meal in just 20 minutes. A salad will go great with this meal.
