CHOICE CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
1 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. water 3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder 1 egg 1/4 c. buttermilk 1/2 tsp. vanilla Combine flour, sugar and baking soda. Mix well. In saucepan put butter, water and cocoa powder. Heat on medium heat until butter melts. Crack egg into custard cup and beat slightly. Add egg, butter mixture, buttermilk and vanilla to dry ingredients. Beat until smooth. Pour into greased 9 x 1 1/2 inch round pan. Bake at 305 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost with chocolate frosting and decorate with M&M'S® or other candy if you like. P.S. Brad loves to bake and this is a great recipe. It's delicious! He doubles the recipe and makes it into a layer cake. You can put pudding or frosting between the layers. |
