CONGO BARS 
2/3 c. shortening, melted
3 eggs, beaten
1 box (2 1/2 c.) brown sugar

2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 3/4 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt

1 pkg. chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped

Mix all together. Place in a 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Cut in squares while still warm.
