NANAIMO BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
5 tbsp. cocoa
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. crushed graham crackers
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. custard powder
A bit of milk to moisten
4 squares melted sweetened chocolate
1 tsp. butter

Melt butter, sugar, cocoa, egg, vanilla, crackers, coconut and nuts. Mix well. Pack into a 9x13 inch pan and let cool.

Mix in bowl: powdered sugar, 1/4 cup butter, custard powder and bit of milk. Mix until moist, but not too runny, so be careful to add milk slowly. Spread onto cooled first layer in pan.

Mix together melted chocolate squares and 1 teaspoon butter. Spread on top of cooled, set custard mixture. Cool and harden in refrigerator. Cut into squares.
