CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
1 lg. fryer or 1 sm. stewing hen
Salt
Pepper
Celery
Garlic powder
Flour
Baking powder
Salt
Egg
Broth

In large pan, put chicken, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and chopped celery to taste. Cover completely with water, cook until tender. Remove chicken from broth to cool. For each pound of chicken mix 1 cup flour, salt and pepper to taste, and 1 teaspoon baking powder. Sift together in bowl. Beat egg slightly, mix small amount of hot broth stirring while adding, add to flour mixture, add more broth to make dough to roll out. Work only enough to roll easily. Roll out thin, cut in small pieces, drop in hot broth. Cover, cook 20-30 minutes until done. Remove chicken from bones; add to dumplings while cooking.
