CORN FRITTERS 
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. whole kernel corn
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
Shortening for deep frying

Beat egg with milk, then stir in 1/2 tablespoon of shortening and the corn. Combine other ingredients and stir until just mixed. Drop by spoonful into hot deep fat. Fry about 4 minutes until brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with catsup.
