GRANDMA SEBESTA'S HOMEMADE BREAD 
4 c. warm water
6 c. flour
9 tbsp. sugar
9 tbsp. shortening
3 beaten eggs
2 pkgs. yeast

Dissolve yeast in warm water and sugar. Let stand until starts foaming. Add melted shortening, eggs and flour. Beat well. Let rise to double.

Add 6 more cups of flour and 2 tablespoon salt, stirring well after each cup. Knead until elastic and let rise again until double.

Punch down. Divide into 4 parts and put into greased pans. Let rise until double. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Finish at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. This makes a very good bread that does not dry out so fast.
