MARGE'S PECAN PRALINES 
2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1/2 c. canned evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. whole pecans

Bring to boil in large saucepan. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda while stirring constantly. Continue to boil until candy forms a firm ball when a drop is placed in cool water. Remove from heat, add vanilla and pecans. Beat until it starts to lose gloss or becomes hazy. Drop by tablespoons onto buttered wax paper.
