MACK'S MOUTH WATERING CRISPY
FRIED CHICKEN
 
1 1/2 - 3 lbs. frying chicken or chicken parts
Enough Crisco for deep frying

SEASONED FLOUR:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. paprika

CRISPY BATTER:

2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 egg yolk beaten
3/4 c. flat beer or water

Combine ingredients for seasoned flour in a medium size bowl; set aside.

Combine egg yolk and beer or water. Add gradually to dry batter ingredients.

Heat Crisco to 365°F in deep saucepan or deep fryer to a depth of 2 inches. Moisten chicken pieces. Dip in seasoned flour, then batter, then back into seasoned flour. Fry in hot Crisco 15-18 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

I have found my new favorite fried chicken recipe. I used chicken tenders and I tweeked it on the wet batter to put some "hot" into it, but other than that, I followed it to a T. I am VERY excited to see how my family reacts to it. I made gravy, but it doesn't need it. (Spoiler alert- MESSY to batter. I used fingers for first dry drench, then tongs the rest of the way. Worked better) You HAVE to try this...if just once....you'll know!!!! THANKS!!!!

Super simple and super good! I'm not a cook, but this came out just like KFC's! I used tenders and only cooked for 7-8 minutes. That was plenty long enough and still super juicy. Highly recommend. Thanks Mack!

YUCK! I was looking forward to enjoying this "mouth watering" fried chicken. It had absolutely NO flavor, unless you consider "grease" a flavor. I will not waste my time on this dish ever again.
