COOL RISE BREAD | |
2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water 1 3/4 c. warm milk 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. salt Approx. 5 1/2 c. flour 3 tbsp. softened butter In large bowl (warmed) dissolve yeast. Add milk, sugar, salt and butter. Stir in 2 cups flour, beat until smooth. Add 1 cup flour, beat. Gradually stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn into well floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover with towel and let rest 20 minutes. Divide into 2 equal parts. Place seam down in well greased pans, brush top with oil. Cover loosely with wax paper then top with plastic wrap. Refrigerate 2 to 24 hours. Remove from refrigerator. Let stand 10 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from pans, brush with butter. |
