1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cold water
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped gum drops

Cream shortening and sugars together. Beat eggs and vanilla and baking soda dissolved in water. Combine egg mixture with the shortening and sugars. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and stir into creamed mixture. Add remaining ingredients, shape into small balls, place on well greased cookie sheet and bake 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove to cooling racks, dredge with confectioners' sugar.
