GINGERBREAD 
1 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg

Combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt, sugar and spices. Add shortening, water and molasses to dry ingredients. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Add egg and beat 1 more minute.

Bake in 9 x 9-inch pan at 350°F for 25 or 30 minutes. Top with lemon sauce and serve.
