OLD FASHIONED STRAWBERRY JAM 
6 c. hulled strawberries
3 c. sugar

Place the strawberries into a large, heavy pot and mash them. Cook over moderate heat until the pulp is fairly thick, stirring often. Gradually add the sugar. Continue cooking over low heat until the sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly. Bring the mixture to a boil and boil rapidly for 15 to 20 minutes. Skim the mixture and pour it into hot sterilized glass jars. Seal and cool. Makes 4 (8 oz.) jars.
