GERMAN SUGAR COOKIES 
1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix sugars, oil and butter. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Add flour, soda and cream of tartar. Mix and chill at least 6 hours.

Roll in marble size balls. Press flat with glass dipped in granulated sugar. Bake at 350°F for 8 minutes.
