1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup light corn syrup (Karo)
1 tbsp. butter
4 cups star-shaped cereal (such as Fruity or Cocoa Pebbles Crunch'd)
1 cup salted peanuts

Combine sugar, corn syrup and butter; cook over moderate heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture begins to bubble (230°F on candy thermometer), stirring constantly. Do not overcook; remove from heat. Stir in cereal and peanuts.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper or buttered baking sheet.

Let stand in cool place to harden.

Cooks Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.
