CANDIED SWEET POTATOES 
7 lb. sweet potatoes
1 jar sweet orange marmalade
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar mixed with 1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. orange juice

In large utensil cover potatoes with water and boil until barely tender (test with a fork). Cool, peel and slice 1/2 inch thick and layer in large pan (9 x 15 inches), greased. Pour juice over potatoes.

In saucepan combine marmalade, butter and sugar. Cook and stir until butter in melted. Pour over potatoes. Bake uncovered in 300 degree oven for 1 hour. Basting several times during cooking with syrup in the pan. Potatoes can be prepared the day before and refrigerated overnight in the foil covered pan. Heat next day until hot.
