VIRGINIA'S CHEESE DATE PASTRIES 
1 pkg. dates, chopped
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
1/4 lb. grated sharp cheese
1 c. butter
2-3 c. flour

Over low heat, cook dates, sugar and water together. Stir well until thickened. Cool. Mix cheese and butter. Blend in flour. Refrigerate 1 hour or longer. On lightly floured board, roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut in rounds large enough to fold over after you have placed 1 rounded teaspoon of date mixture. Press edges together. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
