BABKA 
1/4 c. milk
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1/4 c. soft butter
1/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 1/3 c. flour
1/4 c. candied fruit
1/4 c. raisins

Scald milk, cool. Put warm water with yeast in large bowl. Dissolve and add milk, butter, sugar, eggs, and flour. Blend at low speed, then beat 2 minutes. Cover, let rise about 1 hour.

Stir in fruits and turn into 2-quart greased pan. Let rise 30 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Take out and prick with fork. Pour with rum syrup. 1/2 c. sugar 1/3 c. water

Bring to boil.
