PULL APART ONION BUNS | |
1 1/2 loaves frozen bread dough, thawed 1 package dry onion soup 1 stick butter (8 tablespoons) 1/2 pound American cheese Thaw bread dough overnight in refrigerator. Slice loaf of dough into 1/2 inch slices, then slice those in half again. Cut the American cheese into pieces the size of a sugar cube (about 1/2 inch). Melt stick of butter in a shallow soup bowl. Stir in the dry onion soup and mix thoroughly. Assemble: Take piece of dough and fold over cheese to form into balls. Place these in the butter/soup mixture and coat thoroughly. Put dough balls into a Bundt pan, covering the bottom of the pan in rows until all are in the pan. Let stand to rise. Rising Tip: Heat 1 cup water in microwave on high for about 1 minute or until steaming. With the microwave off, place pan with dough in the microwave (let the cup of water remain). The microwave keeps the pan warm and moist while bread balls are rising. When bread balls are even with the top of the pan, bake in oven 350°F for about 25 minutes. Will be very brown on top. Cool and pull apart to eat with your meal or just for a snack. Submitted by: Joan Graeser |
