CINNAMON CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 1 square chocolate or 4 tbsp. cocoa 1 c. water 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 1/2 c. buttermilk 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla Boil butter, water and chocolate (cocoa) together then set aside to cool. Combine eggs and sugar. Alternate dry ingredients and buttermilk. Add vanilla and chocolate mixture. Bake in an oblong 9"x13" pan for 20 to 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Frost with Cinnamon Chocolate Frosting. CINNAMON CHOCOLATE FROSTING: 1 stick butter 1 squares chocolate or 4 tbsp. cocoa 6 tbsp. milk or coffee 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 lb. box powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. pecans (opt.) Heat to melt: butter, chocolate, milk and cinnamon. Add powdered sugar. Beat until smooth then stir in vanilla and nuts. Spread on warm cake. |
