CHEESE AND APPLE COFFEE CAKE 
COFFEE CAKE:

1 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped apple
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sharp cheddar cheese

TOPPING:

1/2 c. flour
3 tbsp. melted butter
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. cinnamon

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In small mixer bowl, combine all coffee cake ingredients except cheese and apple. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). By hand, stir in cheese and apple. Spread into greased 9 inch square pan. In a small bowl, stir together topping ingredients. Sprinkle over batter. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until wooden toothpick comes out clean.
