4 Cornish hens, 1 lb. each
Salt and pepper
Barbecue Sauce (below)

Wash hens with cold water. Sprinkle inside and outside with seasoning. Place hens in a shallow baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. If hens are over 1 pound and 2 ounces, bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, baste with sauce while baking.

BARBECUE SAUCE:

1 c. catsup
1 sm. can tomato paste
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/3 c. cider vinegar or wine vinegar
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
2 tbsp. A-1 steak sauce
1 tbsp. mustard

Combine all in a pan. Bring to a boil. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes. Serves: 4.
