Whole Wheat Oatmeal Cookies

 Elise (Colorado) says:
This recipe is great! It calls for a bit too much butter (unless you like really rich cookies), so I cut it to 3/4 of the butter it calls for, and it works out perfectly. I also added chocolate chips instead of raisins, and left out the nuts. Also delicious!

Great tasting healthy cookies. I used sunflower seeds instead of nuts. Reduce the oatmeal to 1 cup for a better tasting, moister cookie.

This was the first recipe I have tried with whole wheat flour and it was great! I used chocolate chips too. Thank you cooks.com!

I never review stuff like this but I searched for a good whole wheat oatmeal raisin cookie recipe for quite a while and these were delicious! I cooked mine for only 10 minutes because I like them a little on the chewy side.

Delicious! I did not add any nuts or raisins as my kids wont eat oatmeal cookies with them

Great recipe. I used 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup applesauce, made a moist cookie. Added a little extra cinnamon sprinkled with coarse sugar. Great! Took to a cookie swap.

Wonderful! I made this for my siblings and parents. Everyone LOVED it! Best recipe ever! I cut out the raisins, nutmeg, and nuts as we have severe nut allergies and don't like raisins, still awesome!

Making this again tomorrow, as a breakfast cookie!

Very tasty, but the batter was very dry at first -- crumb topping dry -- so I added a bit of vanilla extract to moisten it.

Really yummy! I used dried cherries instead of raisins which added a little tart to the sweet!

Very good! I used chocolate chips instead of raisins and left out the nuts (didn't have either), I also added 1/4 tsp. of vanilla! Very good!!

Instead of the butter I added 1/2 cup soy milk and an extra egg - and got muffin tops! They are perfect. Highly recommend!

Down here in Georgia, this makes for a very dry, crumbly cookie. I tried adding a little vanilla and it had a great taste but was still dry. So I doubled the butter and egg and added a little vanilla. That made for a very wet butter tasting cookie! So I added 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour and a little cinnamon. I think if you just add 1 1/2 sticks of butter this recipe will be perfect for the dry, hot, humid south.

Turned out well, very soft. I used baking powder instead of baking soda.

Really great healthy cookie. I skip the butter entirely and replace it with natural applesauce. I also replace the white sugar with splenda. My husband and I love these as a healthier option to satisfy the sweet tooth!
