ANGEL-FOOD CAKE WITH STRAWBERRY
SAUCE
 
9 inch prepared angel-food cake

STRAWBERRY SAUCE:

1 container (1 pt.) strawberries
1/4 c. orange juice
1 tbsp. orange peel, cut in thin strips
1 jar (12 oz.) strawberry preserves

Wash, hull and slice berries. Set aside.

In a small pan, combine preserves, orange juice and peel. Heat until preserves melt. Remove from heat and stir in sliced berries. Serve cake with strawberry sauce. 12 to 16 servings.

Hint: Cake may be decorated by placing strawberries cut into fans alternating with mint sprigs around the base of cake.
