CABBAGE PATCH SOUP 
2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 c. each of chopped onion and green pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (6 oz.) can of tomato paste
Or 1 (16 oz.) can of stewed tomatoes
8 to 11 c. water
2 tbsp. chili powder (or less)
1 tsp. oregano
1 tbsp. parsley
1 (15 1/4 oz.) can red beans, rinsed and drained
3 beef bouillon cubes
1 lg. head of cabbage
1/2 c. rice

In large kettle, or pan, or crock pot, brown the ground beef and onions, garlic and green pepper. Add tomatoes, chili powder, oregano, parsley, beans, bouillon, cabbage and rice. Season with salt and pepper and simmer.
