MEXICAN CORN BREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
2 eggs
1 (#2) can cream style corn
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
1 lb. ground beef (browned and drained)
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. bacon drippings
1 med. onion
1/2 tsp. baking soda
5-6 jalapenos (optional)

Mix all ingredients together except hamburger. Pour 1/2 of cornmeal mixture into a greased square pan. Spread hamburger on top, then layer the remaining cornmeal mixture on top. You can grate more cheese and top this all if you like. This is a real meal if you cook a pot of beans to go with it. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
