BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE | |
1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 4 c. apple slices 1/4 c. almonds Cream butter, 1/3 cup sugar and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla. Blend in flour to form crumbs. Spread dough onto bottom and sides of 9 inch springform pan. Combine cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar and mix well. Blend in egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Pour into pan. Combine last 1/3 cup sugar and cinnamon and toss in apples. Spoon over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees and bake for 25 minutes. Cool before removing from pan. |
