BANANA SOUR CREAM BREAD | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 1/4 c. sugar 3 eggs 1 c. mashed riped bananas 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. dairy sour cream 2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1/2 tsp. cinnamon In large mixing bowl, cream shortening and 1 cup sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, bananas and vanilla. Fold in sour cream. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Stir just until blended. Do not over mix. Combine nuts, 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a small mixing bowl. Grease cake shape pan generously with 2 tablespoons solid shortening, spoon in half of batter. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until done. Let stand in pan or rack for 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Serve warm or cold. |
