KENTUCKY BUTTER CAKE 
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. soft butter
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Generously grease and lightly flour bundt cake pan. Sift together all dry ingredients in large mixing bowl. Add eggs, butter, buttermilk, and vanilla. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed, scraping sides and bottom of bowl. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 55-70 minutes. Use toothpick method for doneness.

BUTTER SAUCE:

3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter
3 tbsp. water
2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients in small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until butter melts (don't boil). Using long tined fork, pierce cake approximately 1-2 inches after it has cooled in pan 5 minutes. Pour half of sauce on cake while still in pan. Cool another 10 minutes. Remove from pan and brush with remaining sauce. Sprinkle with powdered sugar on top.
