COTTAGE CHEESE PATTIES | |
1 c. cottage cheese (small curd) 3 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs (I use Italian seasoned) 1/2 c. chopped walnuts (chop fairly fine - not ground though) 1 packet George Washington Golden Broth (or 1 teaspoon salt) Vegetable oil to fry patties in 2 pkgs. Onion Gravy mix (made according to directions with water). Combine first five ingredients in a large bowl. Heat oil in frying pan (1/2-inch deep oil) and place generous tablespoons full of cottage cheese mixture in the hot oil (leave space around the mounds of mixture and then flatten each mound to a fairly round patty shape with a fork). Fry on medium heat until brown and then turn them over and fry on other side until brown. Then place patties in a casserole dish and cover with gravy. Heat in 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes. These patties can be used without the gravy as burgers. |
