FRIENDSHIP CAKE 
1ST DAY:

Mix in a wide mouth gallon container: 1 1/2 cups starter; 2 1/2 cups sugar; and 1 large can sliced peaches and juice.

10TH DAY:

Add: 2 1/2 c. sugar; 1 large can chunk pineapple and juice. Stir daily for 10 days.

20TH DAY: :

Add: Two 9 ounce jars marischino cherries, drained. Stir daily for 10 days.

30TH DAY: :

Drain fruit, saving juice. There will be enough fruit for 3 cakes. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of juice for new starter. Give the remaining juice to friends, 1 1/2 cups each.

THE CAKE: :

1 1/2 c. friendship fruit
1 c. chopped pecans
4 eggs
1 box yellow or white cake mix
1 box vanilla instant pudding

Mix all ingredients in large bowl with spoon. Bake in greased and floured loaf pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees. May be frozen.

To serve: dust with powdered sugar; top with whipped cream or may be topped with icing. Do not freeze after icing. Other cake mixes can be used, adding raisins and chopped dates. 9 x 13 inch pan or 9 inch round pan can be used, but adjust the baking time.
