BROWN CARAMEL CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. sweet milk
1 c. butter
3 c. plain flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
5 eggs

Cream butter and sugar until it is real creamy. Add milk, then 1 cup flour at a time. Add baking powder to the second cup of flour. Beat well. Then add 1 egg at a time. Bake in layers.

FILLING:

2 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. white sugar
1 c. whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Put 2 cups sugar in a heavy boiler, add cream and let come to a good boil. Have 2 tablespoons sugar in iron skillet. Let melt and brown. Pour this into the cream and sugar while boiling, let cook until forms a soft ball or until done, remove from fire. Add vanilla and beat until creamy. Put between layers.
