AFTER FIRE FIGHTING STEW 
1 1/2 lbs. beef cubes
1 qt. canned tomatoes with juice
1 med. onion
1 tbsp. parsley
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. curry
1 tbsp. paprika
2 cloves garlic
3 c. water
1 c. sliced mushrooms
1 1/2 c. sour cream

Brown meat in oil and drain. Blend tomatoes, onions, and parsley until all seeds are gone and add to beef. Add all other ingredients, except sour cream. Simmer until beef is tender, about 2 hours. Serve in bowls with a dollop of sour cream. Goes well with a salad and French bread. Good after a tenacious winter fire.
